Release notes

A changelog of new capabilities, improvements and fixes for each release.

Improvements & Refactoring
Security Hardening
  • Tightened access controls across the app: password protection for projects is more resistant to abuse, permissions are enforced more strictly on server functions and database access, and organization membership can no longer be changed by editing a profile.
  • Improved error messages for expired sessions, so actions interrupted by signing out now show a clear "sign in required" message instead of a confusing error.

New Features
ED-318 UAS Zones
  • new ED-318 UAS zones object have been added to editor, with vertical limits, zone-type color coding and circular extents, rendered in both 3D and 2D.
  • ED-318 zone datasets can now be imported as editable UAS Zone objects through Data Source pipeline
  • ED-318 datasets can also be displayed as a native zone layer — extruded to their vertical limits, zone-type colored, and clickable for zone details — without converting them to editable objects.
  • Official-schema ED-318 UAS zone files are now detected and imported correctly in the data source wizard: multi-layer zones become separate editable zones with reasons, limited applicability, and authority details preserved.
Edit-Mode Hover Highlight
  • While editing, hovering an object on the map now shows its edit points and lines, and the matching row in the object list is outlined; hovering a list row highlights the object on the map.
Improvements & Refactoring
Saving
  • A tool's Save button now writes only the sections that tool owns, with a "Save all sections" option when more than one section is pending, and saving writes only the sections you changed — so large designs save faster.
  • Switching between tools no longer prompts to save or discard; switching designs now confirms before discarding unsaved changes.
  • The Design editor's Objects, Terrain, Imagery and Layers tabs now save as one "Environment" editor, writing only the sections you changed.
Feedback Forms
  • Feedback form changes are now applied when you press Save instead of saving immediately, and deleting a form asks for confirmation first and can be undone until you save.
Data Source Wizard
  • The data source wizard now shows the detected source format in the confirmation message right after you select a source, and clearing the selection resets the confirmation.
Project List and Permissions
  • Project list and permissions now load once per session and stay consistent across the app — no duplicate requests and no flickering permission buttons.
Onboarding
  • Onboarding now lets you skip profile setup with "Skip for now", and the organization step leads with a one-click "Continue without an organization" button; create and (when invited) join are secondary options.
  • Pressing Enter moves you forward through the onboarding steps, a "Finish later" link skips the rest of setup from the profile step, and password fields can be shown or hidden.
  • Accepting a project invitation during onboarding now moves you straight to the next step instead of leaving you on the invitation screen.
Transform Gizmo
  • Replaced the 3D transform gizmo with Blender-inspired screen-space handles, hover tooltips and dashed affordance guides, with cardinal world movement and object-local transforms.
  • Consistent position editing: the map gizmo panel now matches the object editor — same field order (Lng, Lat, Alt, then heading/pitch/roll) and the same decimal precision across all position inputs.
  • Gizmo drags now update the position values in the panel and editor live (about once per second) instead of only on release.
  • Reduced transform gizmo clutter by hiding inactive handles while dragging.
Bug Fixes & Maintenance
Permissions and Access
  • AI Render debug tools now follow project permissions — organization owners and admins no longer get debug tooling on projects outside their organization, and project owners can grant or revoke it per member or role.
  • Fixed a public-project permission issue where signing in as a non-member hid the designs and render gallery that guests could see; non-members now get the same view-only access whether or not they are signed in.
Sessions and Sign-in
  • Fixed a crash when signing in while a project was open: the map view no longer disappears with a "Rendered fewer hooks than expected" error, and the viewer tools bar recovers once permissions finish loading.
  • Fixed an issue where a stale session could leave the app stuck on the profile loading screen; the session is now cleared and the user is asked to sign in again.
Object Editing
  • Fixed an error when editing or hovering a multi-shape polygon, clipping polygon or polyline: all of its edges now render without an "entity already exists" error.
  • Leaving a project now discards any unsaved object-edit draft, so unsaved changes can no longer leak into the next project you open.
  • Fixed POI markers growing twice on hover: the duplicate imperative billboard scale in the placement service was removed; hover scale is now applied once by the POI renderer.
Project Settings
  • Feature permission overrides in project settings now save once per dialog instead of on every toggle — one request per save, no flicker while editing, and permission updates apply immediately.
Detailed Views
  • Detailed views now open directly at the start position — the camera no longer flashes at the scene origin before moving to the start point.
  • Detailed views now load progressively: the loading percentage counts up instead of sticking at 0%, the scene is revealed once the GLB models are ready, and 3D tilesets stream in afterwards with a Streaming 3D tiles… indicator.
  • Detailed views no longer fail entirely when a single tileset tile cannot be loaded or decoded: the tile is retried once, then skipped, and a dismissible warning is shown while the rest of the scene keeps working. A tileset that can never load still shows the blocking error state.
  • Detailed view start points and teleports now spawn facing the same direction as the editor camera at capture, and the editor shows these rotations in degrees. Start points or teleports captured earlier with a tilted camera may need re-capture to match their original framing.
  • The detailed view walkthrough help overlay now also hides when you look around with the mouse, not only when you move.

Bug Fixes & Maintenance
  • The map actions bar is now hidden when there is nothing to show, instead of leaving a small dot at the bottom of the map.

New Features
3D Tiles in Detailed Views
  • Detailed views now support streamed 3D Tiles tilesets — from project storage or stream directly from Cesium Ion, alongside regular models, with the same select/gizmo/visibility editing and tileset-specific LOD and georeferenced reorientation settings.
Improvements & Refactoring
Detailed View Editor
  • The Models list now has a Zoom to button on every model and tileset that frames it in the viewport.
Editor UI improvements
  • Empty lists in editors and tool panels now share one consistent notice, and most of them include a button that creates the first item for you.
  • Panels, editor tabs and picker dialogs that are still loading now show one consistent centred spinner instead of the previous mix of spinners, progress bars and plain text.
Measure Tool
  • Measure labels on the map now show an icon — a ruler for distances and an area symbol for measured areas — so what a label refers to is clear at a glance.
  • Measurement points can now be dragged to fine-tune their positions, with distance and area updating live, in both the 2D and 3D map views. Adding points is a separate, explicit mode so dragging is always available while editing, and hovering the first vertex shows when the polygon can be closed.
  • Unified all save, create, and update button labels across the app to follow a consistent "Save [Kind]", "Create [Kind]", or "Update [Kind]" pattern for clearer, more predictable actions.
Map UI improvements
  • Map controls and overlays now sit on a consistent edge grid: 16px top and sides with a 48px bottom frame on desktop, and a uniform 8px margin on mobile.
  • Map overlay now follows a single corner-radius and spacing system — 8px on panels (including mobile bottom sheets) and 4px on the controls inside them.
  • Unified the map view controls into a single bar matching the tools bar, with a consistent corner radius on every button.
  • Improved mobile map controls: floating controls now sit below the header instead of over the map center, the tools bar no longer collides with the bottom action bar, the actions toolbar scrolls horizontally instead of stacking tall, and bottom panels stop covering the whole screen.
  • Mobile map drawers are now swipeable — drag any bottom sheet down to dismiss it, and the layers, presentations and feedback sheets now match the rest of the map chrome.
  • Viewer tools (Measure, Propagation, Noise, Viewshed, AI Render, Journey CO₂) are now available on mobile — the tools bar appears in its familiar top-left spot and tool panels open as a swipeable bottom sheet that keeps the map clickable; when a tool waits for a map tap, the sheet minimizes to a small bar and restores automatically.
Bug Fixes & Maintenance
  • Switching between orbit and fly cameras inDetailed view editor now keeps your current view, and Zoom to frames objects with a stable, predictable angle.
  • Clicking the first measurement point now closes the shape and shows its area, as the on-screen hint promises, in both the 2D and 3D map views.
  • While you are collecting measurement points, the map now shows what to click next and offers a Cancel button, and the measurement row has an X to stop collecting points without deleting them.
  • Viewpoints can now be placed by dragging them onto the map in Firefox, not just in Chromium-based browsers.
  • The Layers button is now hidden when a design has no layers to show, instead of opening an empty panel.
